How do I know how much concrete I need? Measure length in metres, measure width in metres and depth in metres and use our calculator.
How high are the Maxi trucks? The Maxi trucks are 3.7m high.
How high and wide are the Mini Mix trucks? The Mini Mix trucks are approximately 2.4m wide and 2.4m high.
How long does the truck stay on site? A Mini Mix (loads of 0.4 to 3.0 cubic metres) will stay on site for 25 minutes before any further charges apply. A Maxi (loads of 3.2 to 7 cubic metres) will stay on site for 35 minutes before any further charges apply. After these times, waiting time will be charged at $2.20 per minute during normal operating hours.
How do I ensure I am not charged Waiting Time? Preparation is the key. Make certain the truck has access to the unloading point prior to arrival. Have enough help to unload the truck making provisions for the people laying/screeding the concrete as well as those who will unload. For example if the truck is to be unloaded by wheelbarrows then have enough wheelbarrows to cover the distance that continually unload the truck while others are placing and screeding.
How does concrete react in extreme temperatures & inclement weather? See our DIY sections or visit www.concrete.net.au
Will the truck enter the property? The truck will enter the property, if safe to do so, strictly at the owner’s risk.
If I need to cancel, how much notice time do I need to give and do I get charged? It is recommended to give 2 hours notice to us if you need to cancel. The more notice you give the less chance any batching processes have started and therefore no charge will be incurred. If however any of the batching process has started a charge will be incurred as concrete has a very limited shelf life and cannot be placed back into storage.
Can I add colour or other additives to the concrete load on site? No, due to health and safety obligations, no one including the driver is allowed to climb on the trucks on site. Colour and additives can be added to loads at the batching plants if required.
What lead time do I need to give to receive a load of concrete? The concrete industry is inherently an early morning industry. If you require the load (6am to 10am approx) early please try to book a few days in advance to ensure a time slot. We will try to assist you in the case of short notice. Same day bookings are fine; however you may need to be flexible on an agreed time.
